    Nice one Jim. I really like this. Perch looks great, as does the bird. BG is nice. I've never seen a woodpecker in such a 'balled up' pose, interesting. Good details throughout. TFS

    Well done good contrast and exposure, he looks small, I am guessing he is similar in size to our lesser spotted woodpecker.

    Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Jonathan you are right this woodpecker is around the same size as your lesser spotted woodpecker.

    You are knocking out good images one after another at your feeder set-up. To my eye, this one needs a bit more tree or a bit less green to improve the compositional balance. SH and EXP right on.
