    John the stag images have been good but I don't think this is one of your better ones. The image seems to lack in tonality, the grasses appear to be frost laden but I think it might be possible to get a better rendition of them, the coat on the elk seems to go from very dark to very light but little in between, I would suggest opening the darker elements to get some expression and to a lesser extent I would suggest lowering some of the highlights to get more detail in the paler areas. On this occasion I think I would crop a little tighter, there is a large expanse of grass in front of the stag which I don't really think is making a valuable contribution much to the image.
