Very nice proud pose from this Elk, John. I like the eye contact too. Frame a bit tight at the bottom but not too much. Good choice of DoF. Face, neck and antlers look sharp with nice colours and good detail.

Do you think you could extract more detail in the body? Looks a tad light, maybe overexposed? Hard for me to say, I have never seen an Elk in real life Played around a bit but it's just guesswork, see what you think.

Would love to see and photograph this species but Pennsylvania is too far...The environment is lovely, lots of vegetation. I just looked at Benezette Live Camera and saw lots of Elk and also heard a bull roar - awesome Wanted to see what the young look like... I ended up watching a number of videos of Elk on YouTube

Have a wonderful week-end, John. And thank you so much for sharing!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

I like the pose but agree the coat looks a little bright thus minimising detail. the background looks a little grainy for ISO 1600 I wonder why?

Very nice habitat capture this beauty is in, John. Love the eye contact and in mid stride. Like Gabriela's repost.
