Hi Jon, a very endearing image and I'm sure there will be cry's of... AHHHH...
Nice and sharp, with good detail where it matters. Personally I think you could loose some off the FG??? It might be the laptop, but the images has the 'appearance' of being a bit 'thin' but as I said, it might be the laptop.
Preciously cute and a great result in what looks like dull lighting. Perhaps a tighter crop would place more emphasize on the beautiful subjects and less on the challenging lighting conditions
Aaaaahhhhh Too sweet! Love the way the little one is tucked next to mom... So safe, and such a content look on its face.
Indeed lovely capture Jon. Super sharp and good choice of DoF. Agree with above comments from Steve and Basil but I do realise the lighting conditions were less than favourable. Maybe a tweak here and there would help bring more prominence to the subjects.
Having said the above, I would like to inform you that I will be camping at Shingwedzi in a few days' time - so I will go look for mommy hippo and baby hippo and give them your regards
Thank you very much for sharing, it gave me great pleasure to view this tonight. Chat soon, hope you have a wonderful rest of the week
Hi Jon - Definitely a cute factor and we don't often see baby hippo images posted. I agree about some from the bottom but would also take some off the rhs to get rid of the parts of leaves coming in on the edge.
HI Jonatahn -- A lovely moment , very nice timing to get the capture. I agree regarding less FG and also slightly coming in from rhs to eliminate those leaves on the edge as mentioned above. rest looks fine to me. nicely done.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am not surprised you weren't keen on it - I wasn't, I posted the wrong image (old age creeps up on us all), this is the one I should have posted:
