    Default Juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk

I captured this image last May at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. In May I posted a image from this series, I just recently worked up this one. Not the usual Birds As Art pure background but the bird chose the location that I had to make the best of. Early morning and in the shadows produced a nice even light. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED image captured at 400mm, I could have been closer but 400mm gave me a better angle... less upwards
1/1000 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 4000 Auto 1 WB, camera supported by a monopod
Post processed in Lightroom Classic CC, Photoshop CC 2018, and Neat Image, patched an area in the upper right hand corner that drew the eye away from the bird
    Cropped for composition and presentation

The BKGR works great here; I love the green stuff. I would suggest at least opening up the right side of the bird's face and the breast band as the light is from our right ... I really like the image but for the somewhat filtered light. The calling pose is excellent too.

    with love, artie

Good thinking on the less of a steep angle. The setting the bird is in is great. Love that view you caught of the open mouth.

A bit of a blue cast on the face that should be easy to fix. Lovely setting, I especially like the greens at left.

I like the setting, open beak, sharpness and composition. Nice image Joe.
