This is an image of Ålesund, on the coast of Norway, taken from the top of the hill behind the town. Many Norwegians live on islands like this, connected to the mainland by bridges. The 1904 fire destroyed much of the town and it was rebuild in the art nouveau style.
Thanks for all the comments. The town is very nice from ground level, in fact the whole of the Norwegian coast is amazing and can be seen on the Hurtigruten ships that sail from Bergen (north) and Kerkenes (south) every day. I'll dig up a few images and post to Landscapes in the next while.
