Exposure and background look good, and the detail is fine as well. But this shot needs more eye contact and/or action to really connect with the viewer.

I like the detail on the beak and head.
However, for my taste the background is a tad plain and of a similar hue to parts of the head and I wonder if some contrast would not have helped.
Good job for hand-held though!
