I sure wish I could remember the name of this flower...anyone?

Taken last night after a hard rain and right on the cusp of darkness

Did a levels adjustment and a small crop.

Hey Julie, I like the graphic design of the buds to the right. I think its a little on the dark side overall, and you had your focus set for the front tips of the petals, which I would have preferred more focus inside on the stamens, Nice color combinaton and interesting comp.

    Hi Julie,
Agree with Mike on the darkness and focal point (come up to my world of f 32 once in a while:D)..........maybe that would be overkill........but bracketing once you find such a nice specimen with f stops would help. Decide when you get home! Nice separation and choice of BG.

Yes, you're both right. I have got to remember not to just set up for the BG but for the FG as well! And I'll try to climb up to f32 Roman but I tend to be afraid of heights. (hahaha)

I've got four days off next weekend to go out playing so hopefully I'll make a few keepers. I promise to keep f32 in mind...

I like the colors and the soft light, but agreed it is a little dark..

I agree with Roman more DOF would have been nice.
