Greater Adjutant Stocks are IUCN Endangered Red Listed with less than 1000 surviving and the number is declining. Scavengers as they are, they feed in Guwahati Dumping Ground near Deepor Beel. These dumping grounds are their habitat and their survival depends on multiple Conservation Issues.
The setting Sun almost peeps through the heavy dust hazed sky and a lone Stork stands on the Trash hill.
I am not posting this in any other category as the Sp. survives in this habitat.
I tried to open up the underexposed parts just a little to give a hint of the habitat and the Sp. and not opting for a full silhouette. I tried to experiment with form and light.
(Nikon D500, 500 F4 G ED VR)
Exposure Time - 1/125 seconds, F – 5.6, Exposure Program – Manual, ISO – 100, Metering Mode – Spot, White Balance – Sunny, Focus Mode – AF-C
I appreciate all critiques.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR VIEWING & INPUTS.
My first instinct was to imagine a "true" solid silhouette...but the more I look at the image the more I think it was a good idea presenting it as you did. I love the sun. Great job.
Thanks a ton for your inputs. Actually, I would have been satisfied with the shot if I could position the Stork at the right 2/3rd cross point. But when shooting it I was barred by numerous dumping trucks and trash mud. The raw has the subject more to the right. I added a little frame by cloning to make it at least presentable.
Thanks again,
With warm regards,
