I love how some of the waterfowl runs on water to gain speed before lifting off. These guys have the added bonus of whistling coming from the rapidly beating wings to add an extra touch of theatrics to the motions.

Nice one Daniel. Love the opposing feet position, downward poke of the head and the arch of the body. Maybe they often exhibit this type of behavior but sadly I've never gotten them to give me such a show (not THAT many Goldeneyes where I live though). Hope to see some thing morning so... fingers crossed... Thanks for sharing.

Great running take-off, with good splash. Nicely exposed. Fun birds to watch, in the rare occasions that I get to see them.

Wonderful image. Great timing on the take off action with the wings up pose. Clear eye and the splashing water add. Exposure looks spot on.

Wonderful image Daniel, From the wing position to the splash behind the bird all the elements fall into place.

Well done on capturing this one Dan. Lovely pose and POV. Colours are spot on. I think the noise from the wings as they fly is amazing. You can hear them sometimes before you see them.
