Taken last week in Salemville, Southern CA. Scouting for hawks had reached a lull so we jumped on this opportunity when this male was displaying and perched isolated against this soft colorful BG...

Oh come on!!! You better bring this kind of luck along next week! This is beautiful Ann. That perch is so unique and the bird looks great. To die for background. I always find these bird extremely difficult to expose well and I think you've done really well here. This is one of the best red wing shots I have seen.

I knew this one was going to turn out great Ann. The perch is very cool and unique and the pose and details look perfect. Over exposing a little helped to bring out lots of beautiful details in the black feathers and the background puts this one over the top. You girls killed it out here!!

Beautiful composition and so bloody good! I love looking at this frame! Well done.
I do wish the dry flower heads were more in the plane of focus, but it's not a biggie.

I love this frame and the memory of this! Great colors and pose.
Not a bad consolation prize for "a lull in the action"!!

Ann this is really rinky tinky well done! Love the processing, the black feathers are clean and detailed but equally importantly so are he yellow and red. Lovely perch and the background is idyllic.

The colours throughout are fab. Love the perch and the position of the bird on it. Great detail on the bird and the reds sure bring it to life. Excellent BG.

    Very well done Ann.
