Hi John - The buck gave you a nice pose with the slight head turn. A busy bg but not much you could do about it. There's a lot of blue/cyan coming through in the snow and the whites under the chin. If it were mine I would reduce them.
Hi John, techs are better, but for me, the 'coat' looks flat, with very little detail, likewise in the face. There also appears to be some 'cloning???' or some manipulation', a line running through the body towards the rear leg? If you had moved the FP a tad to the right you could have gained a bit more space on the LHS, I feel it's just a wee bit tight based on the amount to the right. I like the perspective/pov, perhaps a tad more below, but the blue for me reflects the late afternoon scene.
Nicely detailed, if there is a little more head room I think that would help. I didn't notice any "flaws" in the coat but the right rear leg between the snow and the knee looks a little smudged, I wondered at first if it was snow but the area is perhaps a little large for it to be so???
Thanks Steve, Nothing cloned here this buck has a mark on his hind quarter, also another one on the other side of his neck that is quite big. The are probably from the rut. When he and another male were going at it.
Thanks John, there just seemed to be a line that caught my eye that was all, however if you had done any 'manipulation' then I would have suggested perhaps a better/alternative way to remove the grasses.
Hi John , nice buck in a ever so lovely winter landscape .
I am fine with the image as presented , but would try to follow Steve on the tonal route in the coat . In an ideal world, there would have been a better separation between subject and BG ... but we have to take what nature is giving us at times.
