It is almost time to begin the annual pilgrimage to the rookery in the alligator breeding pond at Gatorland, Orlando, Florida. Last year Dottie and I purchased annual passes. This worked really well because the rookery is open to photographers from February to mid June. The birds use the rookery at different times, Great Egrets are first, then Snowy Egrets, followed by Cattle Egrets and Tri-colored Herons. A few Wood Storks and Roseate Spoonbills use the rookery. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Beautiful detail and lovely colours on the chick. I like how it is framed by the greenery. At first I thought the greens were a wee bit bright, but after looking at it for a time, it blends in nicely.

I agree with Will, I love the detail especially the white flecks or sand in it's "hairdo". The greens and yellowish greens frame it really well. I thought I saw you out today until the moment I saw that you posted this right when I thought I saw you.
