    This is another from the harbour, as I was photographing the Goldeneye. Later in the day, a wind whipped up, and brought dark clouds overhead. This is an Eider making its way towards the shelter of the harbour. These males have returned for the breeding season, and are in great condition.

    Nice looking breeding drake, and I love the splashes. Pano crop works well.

    Thanks Bill. 1/1600 with a higher ISO would have been better here, but we take what we get most of the time..

    Will, the shapes in the water splashes are quite something and add. I don't mind a bit of blur on that. Looks like a tough bird to photograph with the extreme tonal range but looks very good in this image.

    Nice shot Will, agree regards shutter speed but nevertheless a fine shot. I would suggest making a selection of the eider -> H/S and remove Blue.

    Hi Will, lovely low angle, and well exposed on the Eider on both whites and darks. I like the splash infront of the chest/breast too.
