Great expression, I like the narrow depth of field, with the eye, mouth and paw in focus.
Looks like a golden-mantled ground squirrel?

Hi Krishna - Welcome to the Wildlife Forum and an excellent first post! Nice detail and sharpness. I like the golden/warm hues of the bg. The open mouth really takes this up a notch as does the low pov. I like the placement in laterally in the frame too. Only real suggestion is maybe a bit more room below rather than so much space above but I also understand that would mean more oof rock. I hope you also got some elk images while in RMNP that you will share.
It would be great to get your thoughts on other people's wildlife images. Like in Avian, we suggest posting comments on 3-5 other wildlife images each time you post one of your own. It helps to get the most out of BPN and to foster a sense of community by allowing us all to get to know each other and our various styles. Your comments don't have to be technical, just tell us what you like and don't like about an image.
TFS,
Rachel

Love the expression here. Nice composition with a good background.

Hi Krishna, a nice opening frame with cracking detail and sharpness. Nice light and the open mouth with low angle makes for a nice shot. Agree on the more room below & less above.

An eye catching shot, the only reservation I have is that I wish the ears were in better focus otherwise I like it.

Krishna, welcome and what a lovely first post here! Nothing I'd change with this one (but the others are more experienced at wildlife photography than me so treat my comments accordingly). Detail is excellent with all the critical parts in focus and I don't mind the composition as it stands as I can imagine the animal moving diagonally up and to the right. Additionally, I think more rock would not help this in my eyes. Background is excellent and nice colour palette and tonal variation on the squirrel.
