Details look nice and you have a good head angle. Looks like light was a bit harsh. I'd try and clone out that one dark grass that cuts through the tail and the rest of the frame. Also this looks like a Willow. Pacific Slope is smaller and has a tear dropped shaped eye ring, and has much more olive tones.
Nice shot the only slight reservation I have is the angle, wish you had been a little lower but I suspect reeds or something like that prevented this.

Not that it matters for the pic, but I'd be shocked if this was a Pac Slope. Have any other pics of it? Primaries? Underside of bill?

Amazing what a difference a pose makes. Yes this is a Pac Slope for sure. Thank you for sending. The tear dropped shaped eye ring is more evident as is the green color to the bird. You can see more clearly the broad based bill which is entirely orange below. Did you adjust the colors on the first pic? Or did the sun just wash out the color of the bird? I would almost swear these are different birds based on the these 2 shots. Also the color on the secondaries is much clearer on this second pic which rules out the trails complex. Thanks for dealing with my inquiries. We spend a great deal of time in the east trying to find the western flycatchers. The last 2 years we had Pac Slope in NY and then one not relegated to sp but was a "western" type. Amazing how different they appear in the 2 pics. Must go to show how many may pass through unnoticed depending on light, viewing angle, etc.
Beautiful little bird... the 2nd shot is really nice too. Great HA, beautiful BG, and super clean detail as always.
Nice work my friend, hope you're doing well. :-)
Tim, I really like the composition on this shot and the softness of the BG. Thanks for sharing.
Really like this shot a lot. Love the background. In this case, I like the grasses. For me they add interest, context and beauty.
I don't think I've seen one of these guys to often.
I like both frames. Well done Tim
