Looks like a cool rhino. I don't mind the tracks. The composition is nice as well.

Nice story Steve and cute rhino. This shot shows your usual excellent IQ and handling of tones and colours. I think the dappled light on the young rhino is nice but those tracks don't do it for me. I wonder if a different crop could cut down their current dominance of the image? Looks like it should hold up well to a more severe crop.

Hi Steve -- tricky lighting situation and you handled it so well , i myself struggle sometimes to over come such lighting , blowing the hl here and there . I liked the details on the subject and the gentleness in it . I wish there was a bit more space at the foot of the image, a bit tight for my liking. A nice one though .

Hi Steve - I remember this sighting! And if I remember correctly, mom never even so much as glanced up at us just continued eating the lush grass. You handled the mixed light well. Placement in the frame works well for me. Nice one.

Steve very off topic but please share where you are going roughly and have the best and most wonderful trip.
Buddy,I always center and try to delve into what you have seen why this frame not something slightly different here for me it's the eye . the dappled light Glen speaks of is all for me here Steve. The way that tiny eye is lit is enchanting, well seen but beautifully executed.
Steve ruts are funny things I ponder then much, they are a tell tell giveaway of man in an image ,which oft isn't what one would really want, maybe drystone wall is an exception. Yet artistically they provide lead in lines take the eye around an image. I'm not yet of a conclusion on tracks and ruts mate but I muse much.
Steve your story..... a small boy protecting his mum, that is a beguiling concept for an image that would win and move hearts,do you have anything along these lines?????
Steve finally the veggies up front in front of his feet, they tell me a story he's been there, I love that.
lovely frame mate safe trip

Wonderful image Steve! The lighting isn't doing you any favors, but the IQ is 10/10. I think the angle is a little high and takes away some... feeling of the image if that makes sense. I'm assuming lower angles weren't possible though.
