I captured this image of a BHG a couple of weeks ago at a local loch. I am glad I got this one in its summer plumage, as nearly all now are starting to loose their chocolate coloured head feathers, as they move into winter plumage.

Sweet with a perfect head angle for the pose and a wonderful BKGR. And sharp. I call them Chocolate-headed Gulls.

Killer BG and details throughout. Maybe a smidge more DOF to get a hair more detail on the chest but great as is. Love that red ring around the eye. TFS

Gorgeous portrait, William. Nice composition and lovely background tones and colours. I'm really enjoying seeing birds from around the world on BPN. Thanks for sharing.
