This buck looks like he is stuck in the thick vegetation and can't get out. Image adjustments in Lightroom. Hand held, full frame.

A nice peeping pose here John, with just enough clearance for the buck for me. The background looks a little bright to me and is taking attention away from the buck, so maybe de-saturating the yellows a bit might help. It would have ben nicer to have had the buck a little higher in the frame as well. I don't know how much time you had here, but moving to a higher AF point might have helped whilst still keeping the shot full frame.

Hi John, I like the peeping look here with those fine set of antlers. Mike has some good suggestions worth considering. TFS.

Hi Mike - I too like the way the buck is peeping out from the vegetation and agree with Mike's suggestions. I find the overall image to be a bit flat and did a very quick rp giving the buck a boost through a curves layer, darkened the bg slightly and also applied another round of sharpening to the buck. As I said this was done very quickly to give you an idea.

Hi John a pretty cool looking frame .
Love the buck in the flowers ...i do find the BG competing with the buck , from my POV lowering the contrast in the BG might make the buck stand out more .
I think this image is crying for going vertical ........ better to be taken in portrait , just my thinking .

Hi John, this has far more appeal compared to the images out in the open. The snagged vegetation on the antler is a cool tough. I do like the off-set position, but going 16x10 in pro from the foot I feel works better. Lose the Blue in the nose, get the WB better balanced before you start to tweak the colours and the image looks right. Just get some negative exposure in the lower half of the image and the depth starts to come through.
