A little Cheetah runs across the plains of Mara making its way between vehicles.
Left the HL on the nape as advised by Steve in my earlier post.

Hi Sanjeev - A cute cub and I like the running pose. The shooting angle is not ideal. You needed to be a little further away but understand that it's not always possible. For me though, there are just far too many blown hls here.

Hi Sanjeev, maybe address the one on the top of the head, but I'm ok on the mane. Prefer the shooting angle on the previous posting.

I would be interested to know Rachel, how would you expose for this as you both have the same kit. Just trying to see other POV.

Steve - I would have tried to either move to a good light angle or if not possible, then I would have gone for a more direct backlighting and moved further away to have a better pov and perhaps a chance at rim lighting. A lower shooting angle would have limited the negative impact of the blown HLs. Less of the top of the head and back would be visible. If it all happened too fast which may be the case with a running cub and this was my result, I would have binned it.

Having said that, the techs look wrong to me if shooting at this angle and not trying to go for a rim lit image. You don't need 1/5000. I would have probably had it at 1/2500 (and likely 1/1600 would have been enough) and dropped the ISO. If I had the time and opportunity I would have shot several varying the aperture or the ss.

As you know most of the time it does happen like that, even with best plans laid in place. Just curious how you would have set the techs being in the same position, angle etc, but interesting, however I would have kept it.

Hey Sanjeev lovely to see the little Cheetah on the move , the trotting pose is looking good .
Framing and overall color / tone combo are looking ok ...and i think you did quite well with the lighting conditions .
Sadly the HL are looking burnt and too hot for my taste ... wonder if you could coax out a bit more detail with a double exposure development .
I do think this was not really able to plan ahead ...so i think you did well .

    TFS Andreas
