I was pretty happy to find a natural nest for this species, but unfortunately I was only there one evening before the young fledged. Luckily for me they made a couple of quick cameos...
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/125s., f/7.1, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, darkened the pupils, NR to the bit of background in ULC (I should have applied some on the tail too).

looks great with the head angles matching, and the natural nest adds to its beauty. I agree with you about NR on the tail and probably on the dark-colored wingtips. But all in all, it is indeed a great picture!

Agree with all of the above .The soft greens and old tree trunk add to it all even though they are a very strong background.The exception which proves etc etc.
