July is a month of shrikes so far for me. Here is another one that i like which was shot with soft light in the evening and sun covered by some clouds.

    Taken with:
    Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
    EF600mm f/4L IS II USM
    ƒ/7.1
    1/800
    ISO 1000

It's about 22MP from the original frame. Shot taken from mobile hide.

    Tomasz:

I like it for the reasons you mentioned, lovely light. The perch is interesting without being over powering or distracting. Nice color harmony with the background.

I could see trying a slightly different crop, just a bit off the left, perhaps 10-15% of the free space. Truly personal preference.

    Cheers

Echo totally what Randy says - beautiful light has allowed you to capture superb details here, and losing a little off the left may well balance the frame a bit better

I moved it a bit to the left. I think it does look better. Thanks

I like the OP better but the repost is good as well.
I love the simplicity of the perch and the entire image IQ,
    Gail
