    It's been too long between Avain postings for me, so here's the beautiful Chestnut-eared Aracari dining on a stick insect in early morning dappled light.

    Captured during my recent trip to the Southern Pantanal- Brazil.

    Nikon D500
    Nikkor 80-400 AF-S
    1/1000s
    f/5.6
    ISO500@ 400mm.

    HH, slight crop for comp, curves, levels, TK adj's in ACR & PS CC'17.

    Beautiful bird and I like the prey item. I think the bird is underexposed and also too shaded. I think the shooting angle is too steep and I don't think the busy background is helping you here.

    Agree I couldn't do much about the angle, busy BG and difficult lighting conditions & shading here, but the exposure is correct, see histogram above.
