I seen this bird, from my window, along with a female, swimming around, both feeding in the harbour. They are not very common in my part of the world, so I quickly put some warm clothing on and made my way to my usual perch and waited. From where I was situated, I couldn't see the bird, as I was behind some large rocks, low down, at water level. I must have waited for over an hour, then it appeared and swam past me.
Your patience paid off, congratulations on the local rarity! Good low angle, head angle, and wind-swept coif. Harsh light though, you could try lessening its effect by reducing the contrast.
