Hi Folks , yet another Grey Seal frame in some nice grey winter light ..... just taken recently on Helgoland during the pupping season.
This image shows the greeting between mother and pup after being separated for 2 minutes .... mum was busy having to defend herself and the pup from an annoying bull.
I was watching them for a while .....
This is the same pup i posted a couple of days ago with the face looking through a slight wave .
Shot taken lying down close to waters edge .

Processed with DPP 4.6 ( fine detail picture style) and PS CC 2017; cropped for comp to 65 % of FF , i would like a tighter crop but i think this is the acceptable limit and i do not want to pixel bash more . So i have to find a sweet spot .
Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous thread .
Hi Andreas - What a sweet moment! The low pov works well but I do wish a bit more of the pup was showing but understand it's not within your control. I like all the shades of silver/gray here. Looks like you have the same reflecting light here around the mom as you did in the last image.
I love the squishing noses! All the greys make for a pretty neat "colour" scheme. If anything, I'd probably enhance the reflection in the mother's eye. Nicely done with this tender moment.
Dear Andreas,
I see more and more emotion in your images and it pleases me tremendously. In fact I am thrilled with this! Super techs and great PP work, superb POV, a well presented image with great appeal, congrats Boetie
Thanks folks for your kind comments , much appreciated .
Gabriela i am trying to capture emotions .... if possible ... but it is not always the case to have the options . I do try to avoid them . But in dec on Helgoland there are more options due to the pupping season and the bonding between mother and child .
Marc i could shave a fraction of the bottom , thanks .
With the eye of the mother i am fine , enough catchlight for my taste .
Steve ... well the 1Dx II is brilliant an many counts
