I went to the local game reserve to his afternoon and had a number of sightings, one of them was a large troop of Chachma baboons. This little one wandered away from his mother who was busy grooming herself. She played around for some time then suddenly looked up to see a large female passing by, looking at her with great curiosity. I managed to capture this moment of hesitation, it showed surprise rather than fear and a kind of indecisiveness I quite liked.

Hi Gabriela - A very nice story telling image with the oof adult and the in focus youngster. Techs look good and going vertical was an excellent choice. Well done.

The contrast in size and that innocent look is priceless. Clean BG too. Well done.

Hi Gabriela .... love this frame ... so emotional .
One can almost feel the fear of the small guy .
Framing works great ,nothing detracts from the content !!!!!
Well timed frame and i like the overall soft tone and colors ...... glad you went to the park ..... .... keep that going my friend !!!!!

    Enjoyed watching..... TFS Andreas

    Boetie Andreas, thank you:)

Patience pays, each and every time... Do you remember Maphumulo picnic site in the HIP? I had a cup of coffee there and a 30 minutes' nap on a bench by the river (despite those signs that say one must be careful of predators, LOL) . Driving home slowly, I noticed the Baboons nearby and quickly parked on one side of the road, they were foraging among tall grasses so no way I could take any decent images. But time was on my side, it was early afternoon and the gates close at 7 pm in the summer, I waited. Eventually they got comfortable with me and started crossing the road, some came so close to the vehicle I had to grab that 70-200 I am not so fond of ( don't ask me why). This must be the most rewarding trip in a long time, I got home with some 600 frames to download, spent the whole evening looking through them and processing some, I cannot wait to share the rest with you

A great moment here, the expression makes it!
Any chance of a slight CW rotation, or is it FF as shot?

Another wonderful moment caught and again that stunning emotional quality. I have to echo Rachel,Gabby framing this as a portrait was a master stroke ,it would have been so tempting (for me) to try and include the adult via the landscape orientation . Wonderful Gabby. the lovely soft BKG really make the focus little ones face there is simply nothing to distract, although i'm maybe not so easily distracted by twigs grasses etc ,here the liitle ones face is the utter focus again wonderfully timed .

    More please

    Take care

    Stu

Dankie Morkel and thank you Stu:)

Morkel, not FF and I could rotate further if you really think it is needed. There was a bit of an incline there, and I liked the way the curvature of the surface created an illusion of "speed" or rather " movement" - not sure how to explain this, are you with me?

There's more Stu, some more fun than others, coming up soon!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
