    Default Happy Rhino ?

    Attached Images Attached Images

Hi folks after a longer time i went through older files and came across the SA folder with tons of images from my last visit to Africa .....many moons ago .
It also reminds me to my friends down there .....well sadly one is gone forever !!!!
Still have him and the short but intensely great time in my mind .

Image was taken close to their home .Found three of the Whites in a mud pool, they seemed to enjoy that " dirty " bath .

    Canon EOS 1D MK IV

    HH

    F 8 ; Iso 800 ; 1/800 sec

Processed with Capture One Pro 10 and PS CC 2017 ; slowly i am 50/50 on which converter i use for the raw conversion , the more i learn about C1 the more i use it . Offers more option to stay longer in the RAW process for precise adjustments compared to DPP , still think the colors of DPP are a bit better IMHO . But i will see what the future brings in terms of getting more used to C1 , as it is way more complex than DPP .
Cropped for comp from all sides slightly .

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting .

    Cheers Andreas

    Dear Andreas,

This is a stunning frame and tonality is superb. Beautifully exposed, great IQ. I like the framing - in fact I like everything - and specially the pose, one does not get to photograph a rhino wallowing in the mud and so relaxed, every day.

I think I know where this was taken, will verify that with you in an email sometime. Went to the Park today with a heavy heart but came back a little more cheerful after a few sightings. I will post some soon.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts tonight, I so appreciate your thoughtfulness and cherish the memories of those happy times you spoke about.

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Andreas - This is a very fun frame of the rhino enjoying its spa treatment. Excellent tones and textures. The comp works well. Nice one.

Totally agree with Gabriela & Rachel here, a lovely comical moment well captured Andreas, I particualry like the rhino digging that horn into the mud, getting his money's worth.

Andreas, a wild rhino would be something incredibly special for me to see,a wild rhino just sat /stood doing nothing would be incredibly special to make images of. But a wild rhino upside down wallowing and so obviously loving his bath must be the most enchanting spectacle to see or try to capture. I adore this one mate, the horn moving the wet mud two big thick strong legs waving in the air. This is an incedibly special frame Andreas a subject that is so special and emotional content that is uplifting for the viewer. one that makes a smile cross a face. For me one of my favourites of your work,no nits really I'd just ask to see more

    take care

A really cool behavioural shot here, Andreas! Lots to smile about here.
Long may they wallow without our greed impeding on their lives...

Wonderful behaviour in this shot Andreas, it makes such a more interesting photo than the standard portrait. The variations in the colours of the mud are a nice bonus, and the clear view of the eye rounds it off nicely.
