From Sandy Hook several years ago. Back then, I posted another frame of this bird, and some folks didn't like the periwinkles in the tidal outflow. I thought they were part of what made the image interesting. What do you think?

I like this shot. Nice calling pose and beautiful light. The periwinkles are not ideal but that is what is on the beach so I don't mind them either. I love Laughing Gulls and think they are very underrated for their beauty and for the photographic opportunities they offer. I like the waves in the background as well but wish the break was not right above the beak as it distracts a bit from the subject.

Bill, What's not to like, I think the periwinkles add interest once you know what they are.
Nice pose, angle and BG. Very nice, I'm a big fan of natural shots over setup shots.

Cool pose and awesome foreground. Good that the head and beak stayed in the white section of the BG. and I wish there was some more white there:). TFS.

Hi Bill, Made me smile, I like the habitat and the laughing gull's pose. I would only wish for more room on the right hand side of the image. TFS.

Can almost hear him calling / laughing. Like him standing amongst the periwinkles with breaking waves in BG.
