Default Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher with Dragon fly....

All these images are created at nesting site in rainy season. These Oriental dwarf Kingfishers comes to Kokan Area for nesting, highest rains with plenty of food for their babies. You can take the pictures at the nesting period. Otherwise theses birds are always stays below the plants in shadow area and move like bullets, hence very very difficult to capture them. Nesting period is in between June to August.

    Basic editing. Cropped for composition.

Eye lighten. NR applied to BG. Darken and sharpened the dragonfly.

Hi Satish, I like this one more than the last one you posted, the focus seems to be better on the bird rather than the meal. It does seem just a little dark to me, so I tried opening it up a little using a curves adjustment. This brought in some more noise around the belly and in the eye and other dark patches, so I also did a little extra noise reduction just in those areas.

It's tough shooting in these conditions - trust me I'm in England! - personally I'd have gone with a higher ISO and exposed to the right, taken a few frames, then chosen the sharpest one. If they're anything like 'our' kingfishers, they do tend to freeze for a couple of seconds, so you can get away with lower shutter speeds than on many other birds.

Beautiful shot. Love the background and the subject with prey. I like the lightened repost a bit better. The only real problem is the dominant dark perch that pulls attention away from the bird.

Like the plain background which really keeps my eye fixed on the wonderful Kingfisher and its prey.
The colour of this bird is fabulous and I agree brightened repost looks a little better.

Sanjeev it's a very good shot of this smashing little Kingfisher I cannot comment too much on the colours having never seen one, but do think Mikes slightly toned down repost does improve the image to my eyes, agree about the perch but that's it's choice.

Well captured. Mikes repost works well on my monitor. Love the colours and the prey moves it up a notch.
