Default Green-winged Teal: Poetry in Motion

I photographed this handsome Green-winged Teal at last year's Duck workshop that I co-lead with Dave Salem. The 3 Teal species hold a special place in my heart; they're challenging subjects (small and fast) and they are incredibly beautiful when you get the right pose in the right light.

Spectacular capture of this beauty - one of my favorites too. Tiny head turn, gorgeous background, exquisite detail. Near wing perhaps a tad less than perfect, but a different position might have obscured the speculum on the far wing, which peeks through nicely.

Hi Doug, I like the upward flight pose and you certainly nailed the raised wings well enough. The detail, colours and sharpness on the head and neck are simply outstanding, and I do like the hint of the droplets on the belly. Well captured.

Beautiful image. The colours are awesome, both bird and BG. Really good detail on the bird.
