Nice look-back pose and good light. Good detail in the blacks (which are more striking than our more brownish version). The whites seem a bit bluish-grey but maybe some of that is reflection off the rocks?
Good shot. I like the pose, beautiful clear eye and background. Agree with Bill about the whites looking bluish.
Thanks Bill and John,Bill thanks for pointing out the whites afraid that is down to myself did think the original looked a bit warm so I have tried to tone it down, unfortunately not so well done in fact I wish I had left it as it was .It.s interesting what you say about your birds been more on the brown side especially after reading comments on Oyster catchers on your side of the water.
Keith.
Hi Keith, nice portrait of this subject and I like the look back pose, good control of the Blacks & Whites too. I think you could apply a bit more selective sharpening to the head and perhaps to the main black plumage. I also like the rich BKG colour, but personally would have preferred the continuity running right across, thus removing the white area in the top RHS. Tech's looking food to me.

Hi Keith, good look back pose, and excellent exposure on the blacks. Great that he is against the upper clean BG, and I do like the moss covered rocks. I too feel the whites could be whiter.
Thanks Steve I have looked at this and agree it will take a bit more usm, after messing the white on the bird thought I would leave the light bit on the bg. Thanks Stu my processing let me down a bit on the white and like I have said before wish I had left well enough alone, have a few more I will try to process.
Keith.
'Less is more' Keith, we need to get you over this hurdle of adjusting whites. Thanks Stu my processing let me down a bit on the white and like I have said before wish I had left well enough alone
Excellent image. Very nice pose and HA, superb exposures in blacks.

Satish.
Thank you Satish much appreciated.
That's a solid frame Keith. Love the pose as it looks back and the details and exposure look great too. Nice inclusion of the colorful habitat. Well done
