    Default Slavonian Grebe

    While in Iceland on Lake Myvatn this past July, we had hiked up through a forested area with remarkable vistas overlooking the lake. At one point I spotted a Slavonian Grebe (also know as a Horned Grebe) feeding its offspring a rather large black beetle. We were standing on the edge of a cliff with no access for a lower POV. C&C welcome.

    D4s, Nikon 500mm + 1.4 TC, 1/2500s, f 5.6, ISO 800, Gitzo tripod, Wimberley Gimbal head.

    It's a pretty unusual POV that is for certain. I like the view of the paddling feet of the chick. Too bad the light angle was not better, especially on the adults face.
