I watched this egret fishing for about 30 minutes and was amazed at how good it was at catching minnows. It must have had a 90% or better success rate. This shot is full frame in width and cropped from the top and bottom to get the pano.

    Technical Bits:
    Nikon D80
    Nikon 80-200 1:2.8 (at 185mm) + 1.4 TC
ISO 200, f/2.8 1/1500 sec, matrix metering -1/2 eV compensation

    Leroy,

Sorry for taking so long to get back online and to seeing your image. You are right, they are good hunters.,\

I like the pano presentation and have a few of these myself. I especially like that you have the eye visible - that really helps the viewer connect with the image. Given that the light direction is not optimal, you did well with the exposure. Cleaner water would have been nice but you can't control that and the light direction helps to accentuate the stuff on the water surface. The reflection has nice detail in ti so good that you captured it completely.

You left to right cropping is proportioned well - nice work with the pano crop.
