As you may have noticed from some recent posts, I enjoy capturing interaction between birds when the opportunity presents itself. This one from the Latrabjarg Cliffs in Iceland in July.

The problem with Razorbills is their eyes. They often appear as dark narrow slits, often seemingly closed. Even when you can see them in close-up, the iris is a dark umber and almost disappears into the darkness of the head. I only captured a few shots of them with catchlights. This is not one of them. Did some rock cleanup; left some whitewash.

It is a really pleasing image Bill. I can almost hear them talking. Looks like sharp focus on all of them and very fine detail on the breasts and wings. The way they all have their heads pointed in unison is great.

Hi Bill, great title - it made me smile. I do like the three on top all with their bills slightly open, and showing a hint of yellow. Hopefully the 4th Razorbill managed to stick around. Good point on their eyes, as I cannot see any evidence of them. I havent seen this species in real life, so I cant comment if bringing up a bit more exposure on their heads would bring out their eyes a bit better.

I like the groups but the lack of eye visibility or a catch light holds this image back a little bit IMO
