Thanks for the critique on my past two Kite posts. This is the last one in the series, and by posting all three I have learned a lot My wife and I are now off for a break to Croatia, and I have nearly made my mind up, 'I won't be taking the 'big' lens'. Looking forward to a nice break, and giving my left arm a rest.

    Thanks for looking

Very nice series TFS. Beautiful bird the single new tail feather adds a little character.

Hi Will, what an incredible flight shot. I really like the diagonal pose across the frame, good eye contact, and you you have brought out the colours, detail and sharpness so well. Gotta love that BG too.

    Enjoy your holiday.

Will get your wife to carry the big one!You have done some very nice ones of these birds but I do think this is the best, think perhaps that lovely BG gives it the edge..Have a great trip.

    Will:

Outstanding, dynamic pose, colors, good framing.

I am seeing some subtle posterization in the background, esp. behind the birds tail in the lighter tones. Maybe result of compression for posting.

I could also see a version cropped just a bit looser all the way around.

    Cheers

Splendid shot all three, but this one really rocks. The most dynamic of the group. Great backgrounds and flight positions. You will do fine in Croatia without the big lens, although this sounds like a familiar discussion with the spouse.

Awesome BIF shot. Looks like tack focus on the clear eyes with lots of feather detail and what a dynamic pose. He looks like he is locked in on something.

Oh yeah, very dynamic pose! A better BG too. I could see a version with more room as per Randy, but this certainly works as is. Pretty neat to see the one full view feather growing in atop the rest of the old tail feathers.
