Perfect framing! I like that the boats are right-side up, with reflections, and that the buildings, sky and clotheslines are upside-down--just reflections. Maybe I'm saying that I like having the top third of the image be normal, and the bottom 2/3rds be reflections--works very well. The water seems to end at a building in the background, nicely containing it. The clotheslines hold the buildings together. I love hanging laundry. Excellent.

Well seen image! I love the clothesline tying the image together and hinting at the life that goes on in the buildings

Cheryl,
Greetings. Of the things that I like about this image is how the world is revealed in the reflection. The framing accentuates the reflective plane of the water and depth is portrayed both down the canal and into the sky. A little more detail of the underside of the bridge would be a welcome addition.
The laundry brings back memories of a trip I took to Rome many years ago when I pondered the dozens of lines of laundry across a street in a downpour. A vertical flip is an interesting alternate view especially when presented together with the un-flipped version. Thanks for posting.
Cheers,
-Michael-

Thanks everyone for your comments. Using the 16mp Olympus instead of the Canon 5D Mk III (22 mp) has made me more careful about composing my images since I don't want to waste any pixels in cropping

Love the framing! I could see it a bit darker, but then again it may be my monitor (had to replace my old one...).
