Here's one of my photos from the Mara Triangle last week.
Part of an absolutely epic morning which included amazing elephant interaction, brawling leopards, a lioness almost taking out those leopards while brawling, a hippo chasing a lioness, and a dusty crossing.
This part of the morning drive was focused on some mating lions. The male however, was more interested in a herd of wildebeest that had moved into the marshy area south of them.
Soon he got up, moved over to them with intent, eventually stalking, and squared off with a wildebeest who had ignorantly been rolling around in the mud, unaware of his approach!
It didn't end well for the poor ungulate...
Wildebeest spectators:
"Is that Bob?" "Not sure man, looks like it could be Willie."
"No, dude, that's gotta be Bob! He's always getting into trouble." "If that's Bob I will go first at the next crossing, dude!"
