    Terry,

Greetings. I always enjoy seeing the stars. Do you know, if this were an actual star shot would the lake show some reflection (I guess the water would have to be very calm)? I like the concept and the dark lake. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Wonderful, ethereal image. The angle you shot the lake really give the impression of a water filled crater. Daylight images that I hsve seen don't give the same impression. (Did you really get the milky way image in 1/15th, or was that the crater lake exposure?) Nice work!

Michael poses a good question about reflection--I've no idea what the answer is.
I like this image a lot. The darkness of it makes the milky way look fantastic! And, the lake is not so dark that I can't make it out. Having some land in the foreground, bottom right, works well to provide depth.
    Well done. Thanks for posting.

Thank you all for responding. I have answered Michael's query directly, however, this made the response to Michael private. My answer to the reflection issue is:

I should have taken the Milky Way portion of the image, cut out the lake, and pasted the Milky way back into the lake in reverse providing a wonderful reflection of the Milky Way in the lake.

Mitch, yes I was able to get the Milky Way at 1/15th of a second. The image was taken at Cloud Cap in the park. The moon was going to rise in one hour so I had very dark skies for the shot. The lake image was taken near dusk and then darkened and colored to match the Milky Way...Terry

Hi, Terry, it's nice to see you in OOTB and the image is fantastic! I love the dark lake which on my screen looks nice and silky like a really long exposure. Anyway, I love what you did - it's a very magical image.
