I like the field of flowers this puffin was flying through, despite the sun angle. Processed in DPP, -1 highlights, +1shadows, NR, then PS.

I like it. Feels like a ski-jumper coming in for his landing. The flowers add to the image; and the fish. Well done.

Great shot. I like the inclusion of prey, the yellow OOF flowers and it is nice and sharp. I think the head angle could have been a bit better (either straight on or turned even more to the birds left) and as you mention the harsher side light led to some harsher shadows.

Brilliant capture, Ann. Like the full wing extension, toes spread, beak full of fish, and excellent head position imo. I also like the oof flowers.

Nice frame Ann. I like the pose as it comes in and the HA is nice showing the eye and fish well. Some shadows on the body but not to bad and I like the colorful BG too. Well done

Wonderful shot! I like the way the flowers frame the bird and I don't mind the side lighting or the shadow at all, it gives it some depth. For my tastes I think I would slide the crop a tiny bit to the left, just a little less room on the right and more on the other side; tricky balance though with the birds apparent motion going one way and its gaze going the other.

Striking pose, as Bill wrote, it resembles a ski jumper just before landing. Lovely colors, HA, fish a bonus, softer light would have taken the image over the top. Thank you for sharing, Ann.

What a lovely frame, Ann. Love the vibrant colors, the movement in the wings and the prey. In many cases I feel that shadows add dimension, and they work here well.
