Default Theme: Snowy Owl at Sunset

This snowy owl image was taken in the winter of 2015 in late February. The last rays of sunlight faded below the horizon mere seconds after taking this flight sequence and the background is some darker storm clouds on the eastern horizon. I applied some selective noise reduction to the darker background. 10% crop. Owl was fed. Thanks for looking!

Very very nice.Perfect for the theme.
    The colors are very dramatic.
The light is amazing . I wonder if you could decrease the yellows or oranges by 5%. This is probably how you remember the shoot and is an accurate rendering of the scene. But the color of the setting sun on the white owl seems a tad overwhelming.
I would do another round of NR on the BG as some posterization is creeping in. Another option is to blur the BG slightly.
    Well done,
    Gail

Indeed perfect shot for the theme, magic sunset light and great stare. Apart from Gail's suggestions I'd add some room all around. TFS.

wonderful incoming pose in sweet last light. I'd put more room around and sharpen the owl a bit more.

BG is fine there is no posterization visible on my screen

Oh what a beautifull owl, captured in this dramatic light. big congrats from me.
a little bit more room and shaprening would be great. But i think the sharpeneing could become a prblem because of iso 3200 from the 7D2, or am i wrong here ?

Super image. You sure had some beautiful light here. I like the colors of the image as presented here, and could also see a version with less oranges as suggested by Gail. Either way you should be pleased with it.

Sharp focus on the eyes for sure. You might have titled this one "Snowy Owl in Red Light District."

It's nice how you could get so much out of ISO3200 on the 7D2. When you say 10% crop, is the remaining pixels 10% of the original or you cut away 10% of the original? More probably the latter, right?

Yes the latter...It's almost full frame and there isn't much room around the owl with the open wing position.
