    Default A Lady Anhinga

Dottie and I went to Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida early this morning. I found the female Anhinga sunning on a post in the water. This is one of the images I captured that I like best. I was a bit concerned when capturing these images because to fill the frame I had to go to the waters edge. There were a couple alligators close by, never would have seen them if one approached underwater. So while looking through the viewfinder waiting for the bird to do something interesting I had to keep glancing over to keep track of my reptile friends. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Beautifully framed, sharp, a perfect exposure, and a great background. Way to go. Plus the open bill and a pretty much prefect head angle...

    Dear Joseph ,

Everything from interesting composition , Colors ( subltle pink of chin on green is working great ) , Pose and to clarity details is making this a beautiful image

The only thing that distracted me to enjoying this image was the brightening halos /artefacts beginning from RHS behind neck curve to the end of the right wing .
Wish it was as seamless , smooth and natural looking like LHS wing .

    Thanks for sharing .

    Regards
    Saurabh

This is a beautiful image Joe. I love your composition, and the BG is such a pleasant canvas for the Anhinga. HA and open bill couldn't be better. Excellent work and a real pleasure to view.

One of your better portraits, if not your best IMO. It has everything. Super action, perfect HA, great details, nice colors, and a killer BG. Love it!
