My recollection is that you can see where the AF points are but not the one you selected.
If you use Canon Zoombrowser that came with the camera this will show you the AF points AND which one you had selected
"Right click on the image and select "Show Focus Points" to overlay the focus points used when the picture was taken. Alternatively select "Show Focus Points" from the "View" menu. Active focus points are shown in red and inactive ones in black."
