Clearing the fEE error in a nikon D-300 camera- Please help!
I have a Nikon D-300 that I keep getting the fEE error whenever I attach a lense with an aperture ring. I have locked the aperture ring at the highest aperture setting ( F22) as suggested in the manual but still continue to get the error code. Please help!
Do G style lenses (without aperture ring) work OK? Did the older lenses work in the past, but not now? Have you tried multiple older lenses? Do they all give an fEE error?
My guess is that the aperture coupling lever in the camera body has been damaged. If you take off the lens and look towards the mirror, that arm is at the 10 o'clock position just behind the mount flange. It is small and dark. It would be instructive to compare its condition to another body with this lever to see if you can detect any difference. Or, I can send a picture of mine to compare with.
Hope this helps to diagnose the problem.
