That is one amazing flight shot. It's hard enough to catch these guys in flight, but in a dive is remarkable. There is some noise on the bird, which you might be able to ameliorate with Topaz or Efex Pro if you'r so inclined. It's an image worth taking the trouble, IMO.

Great pose an I like the framing. EXP good. Image quality is lacking with no fine feather detail. How large a crop? a

love the dynamic pose but agree with lacking IQ. It is too soft and lacking to be a keeper unfortunately...it looks like soft focus to me

Killer flight pose but agree I am not seeing any fine feather details on the bird. Wondering if its a big crop or a little soft on the focus.

Sadly the image is beyond recovery but what a pose!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and critiques. Artie, it was a 1850x1850 crop from a 4896x3264 images (so about 21% of the total pixels of the original.) The image for me is definitely a keeper as it will come in useful for many things (not necessarily exhibition or competition stuff, I agree). Oh well, keep practicing I guess....

Cropping out 4/5 of the pixels is a pretty big crop but it is likely that the image was not razor sharp to start with. Keep practicing and post more! a
