This Gentoo penguin almost seemed to be surfing, as it emerged from the water after a swim at Leopard Beach, Carcass Island, the Falkland Islands.

Very cool shot. He really does look like a barefoot water skier who just let go of the rope. I like the bright colors in the beak to pull my eye in and the water spraying off the fins adds to the sense of speed.

    Terrific action shot!
Love the color of the water-I thought the Falklands seas were usually dark and grey.
I would take a bit off the top and add a bit more of the splash if you have it.
Your POV is fine but I wish you had been about a foot lower,

The 'skiing' action is really fun! I would also prefer a crop from the top, and more below and to the right if available.

    Cheers

A cool action image but it does need a crop on the top. Nice work.

Great action on this super subject. Love the clear Water, also not what I would expect in the Falklands.

Thanks Robert. But actually, the waters of the Falklands often have the beautiful clear and rich colors of the Caribbean. But you won't mistake Falkland waters for the Caribbean if you go into them. Even in the Summer, they are cold!

    Hi everyone.

This repost is in response to most of the crop suggestions that have been made. I didn't have more room to the right, so I added more canvass and blended it with the CS6 healing tool. This added more splash. And I cropped some from the top. Thanks again for your suggestions.
