The goldfinch imaged here had been burying its head into catkins on a frosty morning in March 2006. Taken at Clowes Park in Salford.

The crop is slightly larger than I would have wished since I have simply lifted the image from another site and resized. Edited using Elements 2 , levels, saturation and a bit of dodging and burning and sharpening.

Nice image, Adrian. Sharp focus on the head. I like the blurred wings which I think work well here. Background is busy but I find it pleasing. Thank you for sharing.

An oldie but goodie! Look at the ancient gear used. Sharp on the head, and a pretty neat wing spread with a nice amount of blur to make it interesting. Very wintry feel that I like. Bad luck with that branch running along the back.

Amazing to capture this in the tangle of branches -- well done!

I like the wing blur, sharp head and composition. Well done Adrian.
