    Weather awful and light even worse so have been going through some files from a couple of years ago.

    Great composition with the skipper and Thistle.. Seems a bit "crunchy" though as though a bit too much sharpening. How much sharpening are you doing. can you send me a copy of the original ?- or post one ?

    I love these cute little guys -- we have them too -- or some equivalent. Love the colors, but wish there had been a little more on the bottom. Feels crowded there.

    I think you have a good image David but something is awry with the processing, I would suggest revisit the raw file and
    1. Reduce the crop slightly
    2. Reduce contrast very slightly
    3. Lower the highlights
    4. Review the sharpening it looks a little too much
    5. Apply a little NR to the background.
