    Default Red Fox Close Up.

The foxes I photographed recently are, although fully wild and free, used to the presence of people thus allowing for great photo ops including up close and personal frames. Here is one of my favorites of those close ups, showing a bit of attitude and teeth...but in all reality it was quite a friendly fella finishing off chewing something it found in the snow (perhaps some spilled seeds or nuts that people bring to hand feed the jays). I love the cat-like pupils!

Canon 7D + 100-400L @210mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, just about FF, a few distracting oof grasses removed at right edge BG.

Dan the fur on this animal looks beautiful with plenty of detail and a nice soft texture, agree with you about those great looking eyes ,all topped off by the snow on it's nose, lovely image.

Quite a unique image this. Lovely details and well exposed.BG makes the fox pop. Never realised the pupils on the fox were like this

Maybe a slight bit of CW rotation? It looks straight but the fox seems like its going to fall to the left of the image. Must be the angle of the shot

Great stuff Ddaniel ! reminds me of the one I had last year eating frozen bread!!
Always good subjects- especially in snow. Well done. Reckon a vertical would go too.

Hi Daniel - You really had a great session with these guys. Love the low pov and the open mouth. Again the colors really pop against that dark bg and the snow adds to the image. Keep them coming.

    Rachel

Hi Dan, great encounter, again everything just works perfectly, from camera techs, framing and PP. Cannot see any reason to change format and throw away all that key data, the image would just suffer!!!

    Gorgeous Daniel.

Love this, Dan - the snow on the nose is the icing on the cake!
Unconventional crop/comp here but it works as all the attention goes to the face.
    Looks soooo fluffy!

Just beautiful Daniel, something to aspire too although, I just cannot see me getting more than one frame off if I got this close to a native countryside fox here. The point of view is so cool!! The pupils are amazing something I am simply not aware of before this and simply can't recollect seeing this in our British cousin. Can anyone confirm that the brit fox has these same pupils? As said before you guys are so inspiring thank you so much for this,it's even more special to me tonight you'll see why later.

Daniel personal thanks for the other stuff
