The weather over here for the past few days has been rain and more rain, so on Sunday I decided to go to a local hide and photograph woodland birds. I attracted them with peanuts, and was amazed at the amount and variety of birds I got. The wooded area they were in was in the shadows, hence the high ISO. But, when the sun did appear for short times, it made for a worthwhile shoot.

    Thanks for looking

Very nice shot William. I like the pose and the complementary colors. Nice feather details from that 5D also. Well done

    Hi Will,

I really love this shot! The background is perfect for the bird colors. I was wondering if technically the HA is turned a little much, but I really enjoy the photo as-is.

    Thanks for posting this Will!

Only positives from me on this fine frame. Bird is sharp, colors are complimentary. That cocked head gives him some attitude and character, in my opinion.

A superb and wonderful portrait. Colours are spot on and the detail looks good.

Gorgeous on all counts. I'd prefer just a bit less head turn towards us but I remain envious of this wonderful image :) a

Such a great image, Will. I especially like that the background compliments the bird so well.

Hi Will, I like this pose, its more about attitude. Great IQ for that high ISO, and you have brought out the finer plumage detail nicely.
