    From late last year at Viera, a few Ruddy Ducks showed up and were the hit of the town for awhile.
    D2X, 200-400VR w/1.4TC @ 550mm, f/6.3 @ 1/800sec, iso 400
    Post-processing was to take a single exposure and tone-map it with Photomatix to achieve a richer look. Hopefully it isn't too overboard. While I like colorful images, I also want to be true to the subject.

    Pretty bird and nice light. I was not there but the colors look a bit oversaturated on my monitor.

    Hi Rich. I think the tone of the Ruddy is fine as that is how they look to me in warm evening light. The background saturation is over done in my opinion. By looking at the catch light in the eye and in the reflection It also looks like the capture needs a CCW rotation.

    James, the reflections are probably a little more saturated here than in real life so I'll need to work on them some. But the Ruddy is pretty much as I remember seeing her.
